Antonio Aracil, director of ADEIT, president of the University Enterprise Foundations Network

Antonio Aracil, managing director of the University-Business Foundation of the University of Valencia (ADEIT), has been elected president of the University Enterprise Foundations Network (REDFUE) during an assembly that took place the last Thursday in the headquarters of the Rectors Conference of the Spanish Universities (CRUE) in Madrid. Aracil has highlighted that one of his plans as head of REDFUE is to encourage his presence in institutions, organisms and organizations related to the mission of the associated foundations.

The new president of REDFUE is delighted with his new role and has claimed that this network, which currently counts on 22 entities with presence in 17 autonomous communities, has possibilities to increase its trajectory, value and work. Aracil also aims at ‘the active participation’ of the associated foundations in working groups counting on experts of another fields in order to ‘analyze and make proposals that contribute to improve University-Enterprise relations’ such as ‘groups of experts in technology transfer, future employments, innovation and industry 4.0.’

Additionally, Aracil has insisted on the projection of REDFUE, since it is an ‘indispensable actor’ of the Spanish system, capable of identifying and directing the knowledge and the talent that comes from university, benefiting its innovative action and the improvement of companies, – something that is shown in the University-Enterprise Awards which he annually grants. These consolidated awards recognize the collaboration between the university and the business worlds and are supported by relevant institutions and organizations such as ministries, CRUE, universities, regional governments, foundations and companies, amongst others.

Vice president of REDFUE

The managing director of ADEIT will be accompanied in is presidency by Eduardo Manrique, from the University Foundation Las Palmas, who will be vice president with Pilar Muñoz, from the UNED Foundation. Pere Caba, from the Enterprise and Science Foundation of Barcelona, will join them as a treasurer and executive secretary. Aracil expressed his gratitude to all of them for supporting his candidature.

University-Enterprise Foundations Network

The University Enterprise Foundations Network is an association which works in order to favour the relations between the university and the enterprises. The network is institutionally linked to more than 40 Spanish universities and to more than 15.000 organizations amongst which are companies, chambers of commerce, enterprise associations and entities from the local and regional administration.   

REDFUE develops its activity in four essential areas. The first one: Technology Transfer and the Promotion of the Innovation, which involved 2,665 contracts managed by University Enterprise Foundations during the last financial year. Continuous Training is the second area, with more than 30,000 students and 1,500 participant companies in programs promoted by this entity. Thirdly, REDFUE carries out activities in the field of Insertion and Professional Development of postgraduate through internship programs and professional orientation and employment services. Finally, the Enterprise Creation field, based on encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit and the corporate culture in the university area through ideas contests  and projects about new and innovative companies.
